How To Get A Smaller Trunk

Posted by Rochelle | Knee Pain,Weight Loss/Nutrition | Tuesday 13 July 2010 10:13 PM

You have arrived…

Glad you’re here.

Lets get to the discussion at hand.

Question:

What’s the #1 step you can take TODAY that guarantees a reduction in knee and overall joint pain?

No…

It’s not applying for a portable get-me-around-town scooter that somehow folds up and fits in your trunk.

How does that work anyway?

No…

You can’t go around whacking people with healthy knees in the knee caps to make you feel better either.

What to do, what to do…

I know!

Have you ever loaded something heavy in the trunk of your car or bed of your pickup?

Think sand bags, cords of wood, cement…

I almost said mother-in-law but that would be questionable humor.

OK, so your vehicle is now loaded down with heavy material and you step back to look at it.

What do you mean you didn’t step back and look at it?

Next time, look at it.  It looks cool.

I’m just sayin’…

If you had taken a gander, you would have noticed that the body of the vehicle was pressed closer to the back axle from the weight of the materials.

Essentially, you now have a vehicle that is 1/2 low-rider, 1/2 stock.

The low-rider half is the cool part.

Because of the weight of the materials, the springs on the back axle are under more tension or stress.

Think of your joints as springs.

What do you think would happen over time if you continued to haul all that weight around in your vehicle?

Correct you are…

You’d wear out your springs along with several other parts.

Soon, you and your vehicle would be limping to the local repair shop for new parts.  Expensive ones too.

OK, smarty pants…

Make the connection?

I knew you would.

The number one measure you have control of when it comes to reducing or healing your knee pain is unloading your trunk.

I mean, unloading your joints.

So how does one unload their joints?

Well, you put less weight on them.

You need a smaller trunk!

And to get a smaller trunk, you gotta move your body more and eat healthier.

You’ve tried that already and it didn’t work, huh…

Well, I understand working hard at something and seeing few results.  That can be overwhelmingly frustrating.

How ’bout if I give you my personal, super effective, proven fat loss strategy list…

Would you be down with that?

Right on.

Sharpen your pencil and take notes.  This strategy works like gangbusters.

By the way, I just looked up the origin of the word “gang buster”.

Origin: one who breaks up gangs.

OK then…

Not so much of a stretch I guess.

I’ll get over my disappointment of not discovering a really cool and unique origin for the phrase shortly.

In the meantime…

Here’s my super effective, time proven fat loss strategy list:

Follow this list in this order and reap the rewards along the way.  You want a smaller trunk don’t you?

Here goes…

Week #1

Cut out all processed foods.

GASP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can’t be serious…can I?

Oh, you better believe I’m serious.

This one tactic alone is probably more effective than any other strategy you will attempt.

Unless, of course you regularly snack on sticks of butter while watching late night reruns of Benny Hill.

Wanna know the most effective method to cut out processed foods?

Empty out your cupboards and stop buying them.

If you stop buying processed foods and start bringing your lunch to work, you’ll cut out 3/4 of the processed foods currently in your diet.

That, in turn, will translate into fat loss.

YAY!

Week#2

Go back and take a look at all the times you struggled to figure out what to eat in week #1 since cutting out processed foods.

Replace all those meals or snacks with fruits and vegetables.

Think heavier on the vegetables and a little lighter on the fruits.

I think the best way to explain the difference between eating processed foods versus fruits and vegetables and the body’s ability to burn fat is a very simplistic view.

I could go on and talk about food allergies, inflammation and insulin response but then you might get bored with all the scientific terms.

Try this analogy on for size:

Next time your car needs refueling, put several quarts of oil in the gas tank.

OK, don’t…

But you get the picture, right?

Yes, gasoline is made from oil.  Yes, oil is and can be a source of fuel.

Will your car’s engine run very well on it.

I bet not.

Yes, processed food is likely made from real stuff…sometimes.

But, that doesn’t mean that your body will run well on it.

Either it’s broken down too much, has too many chemicals and additives or isn’t from a real food source at all.

You need real food.

It’s what your body knows.

That was a fun chat today.

Thanks.

I’ll be back later in the week with more super effective, proven fat loss tips to help you get a smaller trunk and Lose The Knee Pain.

Until next time…

Get strong and stay strong,

Thanks Rochelle. Here’s a tip too – drink a glass of water before a meal! I think sometimes our body is telling us to drink more water and we misinterpret this signal as hunger.

    Hey Nickie,

Thanks for the support and congratulations on losing that unwanted body fat. It is amazing what one change like cutting out processed foods will do for the entire system. Not just losing weight, but sleeping better and feeling more alive in general.

    Well done…
